More about F.R.O.G. Fitness Group
F.R.O.G. Fitness Group seeks to glorify God by enhancing individual’s physical, spiritual, mental and social health according to the principles set forth in God’s Holy Word, the Bible. “And whatever you do, in word or in deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” Colossians 3:17
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding; think about Him in all your ways, and He will guide you on the right paths. Don’t consider yourself to be wise; fear the Lord and turn away from evil. This will be healing for your body and strengthening for your bones. Honor the Lord with your possessions and with the first produce of your entire harvest; then your barns will be completely filled, and your vats will overflow with new wine. Do not despise the Lord’s instruction, my son, and do not loathe His discipline; for the Lord disciplines the one He loves, just as a father, the son he delights in.” Proverbs 3:5-12 F.R.O.G. Fitness Group sets its foundation on the teachings found in the Bible, acknowledging that all scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness. (2 Tim 3:16) As such, we hold that Jesus is our Wonderful Counselor (Is 9:6), Great Physician (John 5:1-9), Teacher (Mt 7:28-29) and our Righteous Example (Mt 5:6). In all that Jesus did, and continues to do through us by the gift of the Holy Spirit (John 14:16), we set forth to help those who desire to lead a healthy lifestyle in accordance with these teachings.
"Don’t you know that your body is a sanctuary of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought at a price. Therefore glorify God in your body." 1 Corinthians 6:19-20. Physical health is itself comprised of multiple mutually supportive disciplines. Physical exercise without proper nutrition does not allow for the body to repair itself and function properly. Likewise, even eating healthy foods in excess while leading a sedentary lifestyle will lead to illness. We strive to look at the whole person when addressing physical health. As such, we will provide opportunities to fellowship through physical activity and making healthy diet choices.
"I have sought You with all my heart; don’t let me wander from Your commands. I have treasured Your word in my heart so that I may not sin against You. LORD, may You be praised; teach me Your statutes." Psalms 119:10-12. Establishing a relationship with God through His son Jesus and accepting the gift of the Holy Spirit is the cornerstone of a healthy life. We live in a sinful world that seeks to promote evil as good and elevate the individual’s desires over the will of God. As such, we strive to enhance spiritual health through fellowship among believers, studying of God’s word and holding each other accountable through honesty amongst our peers.
“He will be like a tree planted by water: it sends its roots out toward a stream, it doesn’t fear when heat comes, and its foliage remains green. It will not worry in a year of drought or cease producing fruit.” Jeremiah 17:8. The worries of the world around us can be a difficult burden to bear and develop into depression and anger. Maintaining strong mental health and resiliency based upon the promises of Christ allows us to deal with our daily trials and tribulations. As such, we will partner with local ministries such as Celebrate Recovery, Divorce Care and other Christian Counselors to promote mental health.
"Do not love the world or the things that belong to the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in him. For everything that belongs to the world — the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride in one’s lifestyle is not from the Father, but is from the world." 1 John 2:15-17. Jesus had a constant message when he would encounter an individual in sin, FLEE from it. Our world elevates sinful behavior as the norm and condemns those that truly follow the precepts of Christ. As such, we strive to help each other make wise decisions based upon the teachings of Christ ranging from the company we keep to financial decisions in order to be an example to a dark world.
